Meet Iliana! Our Newest Young Artist

Did you know? We work with young artists inside and outside of our family to learn the basics of creating, promoting, and selling their work online! Keep reading to learn more about Iliana, our newest Euphrosyne Corner Young Artist.

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I have lived my whole life in the same town. I was born in 2009 and have been homeschooled my whole life. My hobbies in the past have been music and reading, and now I've gotten into making jewelry.

Tell us about what you will be making and selling as part of the Euphrosyne Corner Young Artists.

I will be making a variety of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, which are good for almost any occasion. I also highly recommend them as gifts for birthdays, Christmas, weddings and more.

How did you start making jewelry? Did you take classes or learn from anyone particular?

I started when I was 11. I never took any classes, and no one ever really 'taught' me. I learned a little from my aunt, who gave me her old collection that she had from when she was a teenager and made/sold jewelry herself. But mostly I have learned from the book she gave me, my imaginations, much experimentation, and a lot of patience. What are your dream projects? Maybe a complex project in your current craft or a new style or art?

I don't really have a 'dream' project. One of my hopes was to be able to sell my jewelry and spread its beauty far and wide. I'm always trying to find more beautiful and simple bead weaving patterns and designs.

It is our hope to continue to build opportunities for young artists and makers in our community. Is there anything you would like to tell other young people who might be wondering about joining us?

Well, I think it's important for people to do their best to increase the beauty in the world, and if you're looking for a place to see your work I can't think of a better place than Euphrosyne Corner Farm. They are just wonderful to work with.

Iliana's jewelry is available online here. Be sure to keep an eye out for new pieces. Oh... and just for you. Use code BUYTWO for $3 off any two pieces. Better yet, try BUYTHREE for $5 off any three!

Are you a young artist (or the parent of one) interested in learning more? Send us an email at farm@workandplaydaybyday.com and tell us a little bit about yourself!
